RE: Elevator Mock-Up
usually, if you talk to whoever would get in the most trouble if you got caught in an elevator with guns, offer to let him be there personally to make sure you don't do anything naughty and, occasionally, line his pockets with a little something, you will find someone who is more than willing to let...

RE: Does everyone agree on these RULES
when a Zomie is confronted with a human, (s)he should NOT attempt to do anything more complex than shamble towards them in a straight line and try to eat them. I believe that zombies should not attack with anything more than the naked fist Also, zombies should not only not communicate with each othe...

Alright Alright ALRIGHT Obviously noone here is going to be able to convince anyone else that their point of view is right or that someone elses is wrong, so I'm going to write a semi-ambiguous post about my point of view. Obviously, since we aren't trying to make a living through this, there is no ...

RE: Re: RE: Are we ever going to do this?
we were planning on doing a massive, worldwide zombie infestation project, with dozens of users on this forum doing small peices of it, then sending it to (central base guy) to be put together, but it's been a long time since I've really heard anything about it. It could be brought back from the dea...

RE: Hardest shot?
A shot directly over the head of my actors, only about one foot higher, where the actor had to move through the area I (would have) been standing if I had held the camera. I ended up wedging the tripod into a low branch on a convenient tree, and tying a string around the handle for the tripod to kee...

I would write a long triade about how foolish this argument is, but I think it would be more interesting to see it play itself out. All I will say about it is that I believe that if ANY of the allies had decided they were going to stay neutral, or (Lord forbid) join with the Nazis or Japaneese, we w...

RE: Kung-fu wire work without the wires
alright, I"m not sure I follow you. You are going to use manequins to do kung fu without wounding yourself? If so, how will you keep controll of the doll during the fight? I wouldn't worry so much about how to make the dolls faces realistic unless you have a way to make their actions realistic.

RE: Artificial gun recoil
Yes, the flash began just a fraction of a second to soon. Remember, it is the explosion coming out the barrel that actually pushes the slide back in the first place, and so they (the muzzle flash and the slide sliding) would occur at nearly the same time. Your original question, about the slide effe...

The I liked the blood effect, but the arm that broke off was just a little to stiff and bouncy for me to belive. The way it fell, it looked like the wrist would've bent over, and the forearm would've just flopped to the ground. Also, you have to find a better way to hide your vitims real arm rather ...

usually, it's best to get a stedicam. I'm sure someone around here has a link to a homemade one, but if the footage is shot, and there is no way to reshoot it later, I doubt there is much you can do

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: WW1
I belive Highlander didn't say he WANTED to make a WWI movie, he we only observing that there is a disproportional ammount of WWII vs WWI films, both in the amateur and in the pro weight class. I think the reason is because there wasn't many huge and well known battles.

RE: Non-Zombie Zombie Script
Alright. My basic idea... A group of friends are out on a camping trip. at about dusk, one of them has to go into the forest to answer the call of nature. While he's gone, "Something Happens" to him, and he comes back the next morning as a zombie. The rest of his friends flee the area, onl...
