Haha I think they can only make a living if they spam as many people as possible, hence getting more clients. Composers are in high demand in the movie industry; music can become a gargantuan limiting factor when you wanna enter your film into festivals.

well there's a lot of royalty free movie soundtrack. eg. from www.sounddogs.com . some of it is even recorded with the london symphony orchestra. It's very good music. the only con is: other movies will maybe use it too.
